Why Lasers?

The use of lasers for dental procedures, all approved by the FDA, is the most recent and fascinating addition to our clinic.
Laser Dentistry is becoming a reality, affecting the lives of patients and clinicians alike.

There are several LASER Units, (LASER wavelengths), that are used in Dentistry, and each one of them is limited by definition to do a specific range of applications, producing the ultimate result.

Nevertheless, there are some LASER units that even though they are designed in the above described manner, can be used in many other ways, producing comparable, or even better results.

Such a product that leads the competition, is the WATERLASE MD unit.

Waterlase MD

The WATERLASE MD, developed by the American company Biolase, is an Erbium (Er.Cr.YSGG) Laser unit and is primarily designed to cut hard tissue, (teeth and bone).
The unit's settings (tips, power settings, hard or soft mode, repetition rate selection, adjustment of air and water cooling spray) can be adjusted by the dentist to suit the application.
This means  that the unit, in the hands of a trained operator, and with critical judgement, can produce unmatched results for a wide range of applications on Hard and Soft tissue .

Fillings without the drill, without anaesthesia, and without pain!

[Waterlase MD] Thanks to the water cooling features of the unit, and the induction of LASER anaesthesia, after the first two minutes of the procedure, fillings can now be performed without the drill, without conventional anaesthesia (injections), and without pain!
This is without doubt the single most significant application of the laser, and can change the impression that most people have about Dentistry..

Soft Tissue

Use of laser energy on soft tissue for gingivectomy, crown lengthening, frenectomy,  excisions of hyperplasic tissue, incisions, apicoectomies, and surgical extractions.
The advantages are many and of great significance: use of little or no anaesthetic depending on the procedure, reduced or no post operative sensitivity, fast healing, haemostatic effect , which minimizes the time in the chair, and practically no scar formation.
Children and phobic patients are the first to be convinced about the effectiveness of laser technology, for exactly that reason: it almost makes the experience enjoyable!!!

Resolution of Herpes and Aphthea

A few moments with the laser and there is immediate comfort from the pain and sourness that characterize these lesions, and the patient is symptom free, able to eat and drink as normal, an return to his daily routine.
Treatment is especially effective if the patient comes in the office the first day that he or she realises the primary symptoms.
The unit is also effective for:
Decontamination of perio pockets, as an addition to the therapeutic protocol of periodontitis
Decontamination of root canals during root canal therapy

First In Greece

Our Waterlase MD unit is the first to have been imported to Greece, a fact that gives us the pleasure and thw honour of being the first user of the specific technology for Greece, and underlines our interest for our patients and Dental Science.
